oh.... how the saga goes on!!

i swear we could write a novel about our life exiting the watchtower!!

ok..many of you read what happened..our house was egged and so was my sisters car that was parked here, and "frosty" was attacked!!

It is as it is - an unprovoked religious hate crime

I'd be calling back to say that you intend to press charges, not because of personal loss, but because you see it as an unprovoked religious hate crime which decent folk do not tolerate. And that even when caught the perpetrators could not find in themselves to be honest about it (bring up that 2007 wtbts article about how concealing the truth is an accepted sinister practice for jws) - and that due to such a bias nature of that organisation you think it proper that secular authorities should be involved.

Do you think that because one of them owned up to the real truth (religious hate crime), that you could simply get a RELIGIOUS HATE CRIME story on the news - it'd be great light - and they can screw each other over by themselves after that - save the public money.

What will they do when the blood ban has no meaning ?

they will probably have synthetic substitutes for the short term and be able to grow or clone it off our own dna or something before too long.

Are Civil Marriges Acceptable?

my sister has a sister in law who has been with her partner for over 15 yrs and they have recently decided to make their union legal by getting married in a civil court.

now they wish to become active in the local congregation.

they have been told that they are not recognized as being married by the elders until they have been married by an elder.

i decided to take the advice of some of you here when i wrote about my situation.. i am married, but my wife is a die hard witness.

despite me showing her mountains of evidence and her actually accepting it, she is regressing back into jw think.. this has happened since i stopped mentioning anything anti-jw.. now she thinks that my problems with jw's were just a phase because i am not bringing up the issue anymore.. i really want to leave this religion, but i can't do that without losing her.. many here i know are trapped and some are still serving as elders.

i don't know how you do it, but i guess routine is routine.

Nimrod and the trinity

my jw brother and sister in law came over for dinner last week.

we have tried to not get on any bible subjects so there is no problem.

pretty much impossible for jw's not much else going on.

It's quite simple - you have seen what lengths the wtbts will go to, to avoid a light of truth, because they lose the cover of darkness. I know that I'm always picking on them, but a certain hard stone is good for sharpening your sword with (especially with a little water). Their deed is one of evil (whether or not the doer may be) and they actively protect it from scrutiny - it's a classic example.

i don't want to have this come across as bragging, but i have to explain this to ask this question.

okay, where i work is a call center and i do sales, along with customer service.

for the last five years, out of 2500 representatives online nationally, i have been number one in sales for all months and years.

Well, I then get lectured on how I need to removed my trophies from my desk, as they make people think I am overly proud. They mention how if I keep telling people I will not take a management position, due to the pay cut involved, I could loss my job and be replaced. They then mention, that I need to apply for management and be a team player, and benefit more people then me. At the same time, the head call center manager tell me he would not higher me, as a manager, as I am so negative about the pay cut.

What ?.........do you work at the kingdumb hell or something ????

Is it wrong to be proud of achievements? Hey, you're not the one who gave out the flippin trophies................

"hell" has word meaning roots of "a concealed place" as does "cell", and "an abode of the dead" - it is often described as prison, and since the middle ages it has been figuratively used to describe a bad experience.. when i read people posting the term "kingdumb hell" it reminds me that the jw denial of endless punishment as a living-dead person is simply a denial of their own existence.

indeed it comes with a continual burning (desire) and fire and brimstone (the threats and fear of harm, and labour).. my response to their "there is no such thing" is "really ?".

Her domain is like the domain the richman ( from the lazarus parable) went to in the bible after he died.

That would be Hades - and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes, and saw Abraham far off - Hades is different

its death is an evil death, and Hades is preferable to it. It will not be master over the godly, and they will not be burned in its flame.

Being "dead" does not necessarily mean being in Hades, and one can be freed from Hades.

For he afflicts, and he shows mercy; he leads down to Hades, and brings up again, and there is no one who can escape his hand.

Something that jwism also doesn't address is how being in 'hell' is punishment at the same time as merciful - ie. if you chose it, you don't even know you're there, but you do know torment because good things "are going to come, real soon, really, it's just around the corner"

They don't give to charities, or go anywhere else - blinded in darkness, suffering sparing levels of forgiveness (which is actually a deal or trade), and you only have to see the mags when it comes to gnashing at everyone else.

Every biblical description of "the wrong end of the stick" that I ever read about points to places like the wtbts.
